本書的賣點也就只在於作者大膽設想出 2040 年米國分裂後，由伊斯蘭教徒掌政的情況。這個刻意營造的社會描寫得還算細膩，但要達到科幻藩籬之內認真建構的 alternate world 水準還是有很大的差距。最起碼在國際關係部分就只有幾筆帶過，但這一點不好好搞定的話，大大影響全書背景的「可信」程度。恐怕得等到續集才會有所突破。情節及人物是很標準的驚悚小說。陰謀懸疑動作刺激樣樣不缺。主角配角反派也都照著公式走，沒什麼特出之處。雖然很強調伊斯蘭教的氛圍和影響，但書中所描寫的現代派、溫和派感覺上和其他非伊斯蘭人士差不了太多，或許這正是作者所要強調的部分。激進（基教）派就是當今媒體所能見到的那個樣子，給他們掌權後日子也不會比較好過。
本書拿來殺時間還不錯，別對內容太認真。文案介紹中提到一句：「如果恐怖分子獲勝了，世界會變成怎樣？」要找解答的話，還不如來看 Glorifying Terrorism。
